SFI Emerges Victorious in Trivandrum College Unions

Thiruvananthapuram: In the not so hot college Union elections held today in some colleges where the student political party system still prevails, SFI seems to have strengthened its hold. In the election, majority of students voted for candidates belonging to the Student Federation of India, the students wing of the communist party of India (Marxist). The elections took place in most of the colleges by noon and the votes were counted by evening. In the past, colleges witnessed intense political campaign during the union elections. The state has a wide network of schools and colleges from where many leading state politicians started their political career. More
