Dubai Drama Group auditions for the Spring production, mid-Feb 2004
Dubai Drama Group will be staging Tom Stoppard?s sophisticated political comedy, Dirty Linen, at the Dubai Country Club in mid-February, 2004. Auditions for this production will take place at the Country Club at 8pm on Saturday 20th December 2003, in the Terrace Room. There are good parts for five men and two women, one of whom must be young and shapely! The dialogue is imaginative.
The plot: a parliamentary (UK) select committee is investigating moral standards in the House of Commons, following rumours of sexual impropriety amongst Members of Parliament. This is complicated by the fact that the young secretary recording the minutes is the lady at the centre of the scandal! Much dirty linen is washed ? not altogether in public, but amusingly so for the audience.
This is essentially a longer-than-usual one-act play, ideal for dinner theatre and touring. It is largely word-play, and will be performed using simple furniture and drapes to simulate the House of Commons committee room.
Anyone interested in the imaginative use of the English language will enjoy being part of this production. Please come along to auditions on Saturday and join in the fun. There could be a part for you ? either on stage or backstage. Yes, we also need willing hands in the back-up crews; please help DDG continue to present quality productions to a hungry audience? Tell all your friends! (Message from Dubai)
