Some cross the border to Pakistan, others are internally displaced within Afghanistan. - Kochi; The Comptroller and Auditor General of India has pointed out serious lapses in the audited accounts of Nedumbassery International Airport, which has incurred a heavy loss of Rs.26.63 crores in the financial year 1999-2000. The Accountant General (Audit) of Kerala has also qualified the balance sheet. Indian School Board under Fire: Many Heads to Roll
Muscat - A major reshuffle is going on in the Board of Indian schools in Oman. At least two senior members of the Board of Governors are continuing in the Board even after completing their legal tenure in office.. Similarly, at least two of the Board of Governors members who have been doing the school auditing are also under the close scrutiny of higher authorities. Out of 14 schools, only 2 have produced a balance sheet..Many of them do not have one ready... Even though Indian community schools are supposed to be working as non commercial entities by keeping away vested business interests from the school administration, many of the schools have been more than commercial enterprises.
