Applications invited for Indian Forest Service Examination

New Delhi: The Union Public Service Commission have invited applications from candidates for the Indian Forest Service Examination to be held from 13th July, 2002.
Every candidate appearing at the IFS Examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted four attempts at the examination. This restriction on number of attempts will not apply in the case of SC & ST who are otherwise eligible. Further, the candidates belonging to OBCs, who are otherwise eligible, shall be permitted a maximum of seven attempts.
The last date for receipt of applications is 4th March, 2002. In the case of applications received by post/speed post from the candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul & Spiti District and Pangi Sub-Division of Chamba District of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep and for candidates residing abroad, the last date for receipt of applications is 11th March, 2002.
The common application form, alongwith an information brochure containing general instructions for filling up the form, an acknowledgement card and an envelope for sending application can be purchased from any one of the designated head post offices/post offices and selected field post offices throughout the country on cash payment of Rs. 20/- (Rupees Twenty only). Candidates interested in applying for this examination must use this form only.
In case candidates have any difficulty in obtaining Application Form/Central recruitment Fee Stamp from any of the designated Head Post Offices/Post Offices, they should immediately contact concerned Postmaster or UPSCs "FORMS SUPPLY MONITORING CELL over Telephone No.011-3389366/FAX No.011-3387310.
