Kerala Monitor in the News.. KM Performance Review

Keralamonitor.com is the outcome of joint effort by a group of Malayali professionals from India and the Gulf region. A handful of computer professionals are also supporting the project. We are optimistic about the future role of Internet as a powerful medium. For centuries the print media have been dominated by the state, business magnates like Rupert Murdock and politicians. Huge capital investment is required for starting a newspaper or Television. However, the ongoing revolution in cyber technology has made it easy for people like us to come together and start 'weblishing ' a portal like keralamonitor.com.

Nobody would compare us with media magnates who are guided by advertisers and external interests. Doing journalism is considered a crime by some people, but we are hosting this site for the common man whose voice is not heard in the mainstream media. The site will not contain reports against any governments or political system. Our mission is to highlight some serious issues which affect the life of Overseas Malayali community in the Gulf and other parts of the world. Our editorial focus is also the fate of NRKs who are back home. The portal intends to highlight various aspects of their life abroad and at home.

If you are like minded contact us at keralamonitor@keralamonitor.com Send us your valuable suggestions, news tips, photographs, birthday greetings and join the Malayali web community in the Gulf.. Within a short span of time, keralamonitor.com has been able to make its presence felt in the media as some newspapers, newschannels and well known Internet portals have reported about the portal and its news coverage.

At present keralamonitor.com is receiving more hits than even the well established newspaper websites in certain Gulf countries. We dont believe in self glorification but given the difficult working enviornment, lack of financial resources and advertisement support, and the hostility of some of the prominent Non Resident Keralites are factors that prevent our smooth operation. However, we have been successful in coming out with exclusive news reports that attract the Keralite community in the Gulf.
