UAE Based NRK to Invest in Bharath TV for Congress Party

DUBAI-NEW DELHI - Adding a political colour to the television revolution in India, a new TV channel is being proposed by a Sharjah based Non Resident Keralite with the help of other NRI business tycoons, which will serve as a mouth piece of the Indian National Congress. The largest democratic party in the world rules the central government and 14 state governments in India including Kerala, the bastion of communist parties. Named Bharath TV, the proposed multilingual channel will be launched soon with an initial investment of Rs.40 crores, much of it coming from the Congress President Sonia Gandhi who is known to have offered Rs.10 crores for the project. The remaining money to fund the tricolour channel will come from the Gulf based NRIs and the Kerala Chief Minister Ommen Chandy, whose image is at a historical low is one of the main brains behind the idea. Bharath TV is just one of the seven to nine Indian channels in pipeline. This is the first time that the Congress party is directly venturing into the visual media. A Sharjah based businessman Aniyan Kutty who was in the news for launching a chartered flight service to Kerala is learned to be one of the main investors for the project. Initially the channel will be launched in multiple languages in all the 14 Congress ruled states to make it a commerciallly viable project. A lot of Gulf based investors have promised money to sustain the Congress channel. It seems to be yet another smart move by Ommen Chandy and company to utilise the friendly business connections that he nurtured during his short tenure as the state Chief Minister. The channel representatives could not be contacted for their confirmation of the Bharath TV Channel story. The investor has also been associated with Jeevan TV, another new channel that is slowly making an impact. BJP, the opposition party has already got its own proxy channels run by celebrity journalists. Even though the party mouth piece National Herald is incurring heavvy losses every day and its Urudu version too in the same situation, how will the visual media change people's perception of the party is worth watching.. A Patriotic Newspaper is already spreading Hindutva agenda all over the country ...so is a national TV channel..Now let us see how the INC mouthpiece will awaken Bharath's masses...Watch this space.

Indian "Slaves" Build US Bases In Iraq

Indian and Nepalese workers recruited by Subhash Vijay in India to work for Gulf Catering Company of Riyadh Saudi Arabia ended up in Iraq.

Tens of thousands of low-wage workers like Soliman travel to Iraq from more than three dozen countries. They are lured by jobs with companies working on projects led by Halliburton and other major U.S.-funded contractors hired to provide support services to the military and reconstruction efforts. Called "third country nationals" (TCN) in contractor's parlance, these laborers hail largely from impoverished Asian countries such as the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Pakistan, as well as from Turkey and countries in the Middle East. Once in Iraq, TCNs earn monthly salaries between $200 to $1,000 as truck drivers, construction workers, carpenters, warehousemen, laundry workers, cooks, accountants, beauticians, and similar blue-collar jobs. Dozens of smaller subcontracting companies-- largely based in the Middle East --including PPI, First Kuwaiti Trading & Contracting and Alargan Trading of Kuwait, Gulf Catering, Saudi Trading & Construction Company of Saudi Arabia. Such companies, which recruit and employ the bulk of the foreign workers in Iraq, have experienced explosive growth since the invasion of Iraq by providing labor and services to the more high-profile prime contractors..They don't get sick pay and if PPI had insurance, they sure didn't talk about it much," Reynolds recalls. "TCNs had a lot of problems with overtime and things. ...I had to go to bat for them to get shoes and proper clothing," Ajayakumar's case is a study in the convoluted world of Iraqi contracts: Workers were reported to have been first recruited by
Subhash Vijay in India to work for Gulf Catering Company of Riyadh,
Saudi Arabia. Gulf Catering was subcontracted to Alargan Group of Kuwait City, which was subcontracted to the Event Source of Salt Lake City, which in turn was subcontracted to KBR of Houston. And KBR, of course, is a subsidiary of Halliburton. Full Report and More News

Vanidas Elayavoor, writer and orator releases the first copy of Gulf Madhyamam Annual issue to Ezhancherry Ramachandran, revolutionary poet. Hamsa K. Abbas Chief Editor Gulf Madhyamam and MCA Naser, Bureau Chief Gulf Madhyamam are also seen.

Gufl Madhyamam and Madhyamam Weekly seem to be giving a strong platform to the radical left ideologues and former Naxalites to air their views freely without any fear or favour. The newspaper and weekly have created a healthy discussion on crucial socio-political issues in the most literate state of India especially the inner party contradictions within the CPM. The annuaversy issue of Gulf Madhyamam contains many indepth reports including a colourful cover feature on V.S.Achuthananthan, the marginalised ultra radical leader of the Communist Party of Inda (CPI M). There is a stylish photograph of the red brigade marching ahead in his lonely tirade against the mighty corporate communists led by Pinarayi Vijayan, who apparently considers VS as his main class enemy within and outside the party. Madhyamam has been the voice of militant Islamic resurgence couched with a strong sympathy towards proletarian and backward classes without upsetting the existing class structure . At a time when the mainstream Muslim political groups are largely rejected by the electorate even in their own bastion, is there a new political alliance emerging for the next general elections? Given the particular nature of Indian polity where the Muslim minority cannot have an independent existence from the secular forces, anything cooking behind the scenes? At the global level the communists and Islamist groups have a common enemy, the fearless fight against imperialism. At the local level ...can they see eye to eye on many issues?

Prince Waleed Acquires Stake in Fox News

With surprisingly little media attention, Saudi Arabia has bought a stake in the company that owns what has been, until now, arguably its most visible and influential critic: the Fox News Network. Al-Waleed is said be the world's fifth richest man and now NewsCorp's fourth largest voting shareholder (behind the Murdoch family, Liberty Media and fund giant Fidelity Management & Research Co). Such a role would appear to give the Prince some say over the way the business is run. That could, presumably, extend to the content of Fox programming and that of the company 's other media outlets (which include DirecTV and 20th Century Fox). ..Prince Al-Waleed's Rotana Audio Visual Company, which operates TV channels in the Middle East, has signed a deal with DirecTV, the TV-satellite firm controlled by NewsCorp. As a result, it would seem Rotana will be able to beam its
programs into U.S. cable boxes without interference from federal regulators, or anybody else. Read the Full Story from

Something is Stinking in America: Guardian

American conservatism that has shaped American and British politics for 20 years has been holed below the waterline. It will take a lot more to sink it, but DeLay's indictment is symptomatic of a conservative over-reach and endemic corruption that will trigger, at the very least, a retreat and maybe even more. Hypocrisies have been exposed. The discourse in British politics is set to change. The story begins in the murky world of campaign finance and the grey area of quasi-corruption, kickbacks and personal favours that now define the American political system. American politicians need ever more cash to fight their political campaigns and gerrymander their constituencies, so creating the political truth that incumbents rarely lose. US corporations are the consistent suppliers of the necessary dollars and Republican politicians increasingly are the principal beneficiaries. CIAL: Robbing Peter to Pay Paul

The much talked about Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL), the multicrore project that was funded with the capital collected from ordinary shareholders in the gulf is not yet making any turnaround and the marginal profit of Rs.2 crores is artificially shown in the balance sheet due to inflated income and other accounting jimmics, reports Sharly Benjamin, editor Arabia Newspaper from Dubai. According to his report, the recent media hype about the turnaround made by the airport is part of a plan to jack up the share price for the benefit of a few big shareholders, mainly NRI investors, who dominate the airport board and other decision making bodies. When it was started, the tall promise was that the airport is for the benefit of ordinary non resident Keralites. However, whatever profit the airport could make is due to the users fee of Rs.500 for every trip through the airport. Rs.28 crores was raised by fleezing only the NRI passengers. While the airport is used by many including the politicians, businessmen and others, the Rs.500 users fee is a "special privilege" from the big NRI board members to the ordinary NRIs, whose dream project is now turned out to be yet another mirage. At a time when the same investors are talking about starting an exclusive airline for the state, some of the big shareholders have plans to sell their share at an inflated price. There are also reports suggesting that the under world with vast interest in smuggling gold, drugs and anti social activities are accumulating the company shares. While the big sharks have ambitious plans to be part of the airport and bag big contracts from the Rs.3,500 expansion planned in the future, the CIAL story appears to be yet another ploy by the big NRI sharks to loot their common folks and flourish their private business empires. NRKs are keeping their fingers crossed whether the prmised withdrawal of the so called users fee will ever happen!!! There are many grey areas in the airport operation - favouritism in appointments, giving plum contracts, lack of transparency in purchasing costly equipment..

British Special Forces Caught Carrying Out Staged Terror In Iraq?

What is admitted is that two British soldiers in Arab garb and head dress drove a car towards a group of Iraq police and began firing. According to the Basra governor Mohammed al-Waili, one policeman was shot dead and another was injured. The Arab garb is obviously undeniable proof that the operation, whatever its ultimate intention, was staged so that any eyewitnesses would believe it had been carried out by Iraqis. This has all the indications of a frame up.This is made all the more interesting by the fact that early reports cited as originating from BBC World Service radio stated that the car used contained explosives. Was this another staged car bombing intended to keep tensions high? As you will discover later, the plan to keep Iraq divided and in turmoil is an actual policy directive that spans back over two decades. The only outlet to ask any serious questions was Australian TV news which according to one viewer gave, "credibility to the 'conspiracy theorists' who have long claimed many terrorist acts in Iraq are, in fact, being initiated and carried out by US, British and Israeli forces." Throughout history we see the tactic of divide and conquer being used to enslave populations and swallow formerly sovereign countries by piecemeal. From the British stirring up aggression between different Indian tribes in order to foment division, to modern day Yugoslavia where the country was rejecting the IMF and world bank takeover before the Globalists broke it up and took the country piece by piece by arming and empowering extremists. Karunakaran, Murali Ready with their DICK Party to fight Sonia Congress

Vote for DICK? A political outfit floated by veteran Congress leader K Karunakaran after parting ways with congress is officially known as "Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran)"(DICK). With all due respect to the leader and election commission officials, the election commission which registered the new Kerala leader's outfit in this name a seems to have committed a great mistake .... Almost all the Indian political parties are known with their short names formed with the first letters of their party name. You have various Congress factions in Kerala, but the unique name for the Karunakaran group, when written in the short form, has a hidden meaning, which not many political observers seem to have noticed. You have the CPI, CPM, BJP, DMK, AIDMK, TDP..to name a few popular political parties, which are known by their short names. Now the Karunakaran and his son's addition to this growing list of political parties will read like DICK (Democratic Indira Congress (Karunakaran)!!! Who does not know the meaning of DICK, the male reproductive organ. The election commissioner with an elementary knowledge of English would not have allocated such a name, which is against all senses. While critics call Kerala Pradesh Congress Committeee (KPCC) as Kerala Pradesh Chitty Company, for the alleged link of Ramesh Chennithala to the notorious Himalaya group of finance companies, the acronym given to the Karunakaran faction is a great disgrace to the leader...Now the Karunakaran family is getting ready for the next election with their DICK party...sorry Democratic Indira Congress Karunakaran party.. Paradoxically enough many of the reputed political parties have merged with this DICK party.. Reverse Immigration: Why return to the Gulf?

Most white-collar Indian-professionals end up doing blue-collar jobs because Indian qualifications are not recognised in Canada. Immigrants are required to upgrade their qualification, which means they have to spend their money in enrolling for new courses. So you have professionals such as doctors, engineers, professors, teachers working as factory workers, gas-station attendants, cleaners, fruit-pickers, waiters, cashiers or supervisors in order to eke out an existence and pay for the tuition-fee needed for up-grading their qualifications. Mustache Mania - New Trend Catches up With Dubai Jewellers

Macsulinity has nothing to do with a hairy face!! Writes...

This is an odd man out in the Diera Gold Souq area.. He has a guinns world record in maintaining the longest or tallest mustache. A case has been filed against aJournalist in Dubai for writing a report about mustaches. The front page story on 7 Days has been the talk of the town for sometimes and even tabloid newspapers and websites have picked up the story. Many employees working in leading jewellry groups say that the report was timely and they value their mustache ! Many jewllers in Dubai Gold Souq have their staff without mustache. It seems to be part of the trend to make it an internationally oriented gold market that caters to customers from the seven continents. The story has generated good discussion. Here is the comment from a Muscat based friend. "I am very happy and impressed to know about the ..a Jewellery deciding to employ only men with clean shaven faces. This is a great step in the right direction and its also hygenic as well, like in the Hoteleeering and Catering industry. Since these Jewelleries are of Kerala origin, it will be great to make sure that the staff are dressed in Kerala costumes during the festive days of Kerala. He has suggested that all employess should have fluency in English and learn to avoid "manglish" The salesmen should be have crew-cut hairstyles and also be sure that the unwanted hair of their noses and ears are removed or trimmed. With the high level of unemployment in Kerala, I am very sure that there are hundreds of young men and women willing to work in these terms and conditions. Macsulinity has nothing to do with a hairy face!!! One can still look silly and girlish with a hairy face!!! It is high time that Malayalees started realising that there is a life without a hairy face!!!! writes Jacob Thomas Muscat. Oman in Discussion Forum.

British Secret Plans for Fomenting Civil War in Iraq Exposed

".. what we have here is a clear instance of a foreign power attempting to fabricate a terrorist attack. Why else would the British soldiers be dressed as Arabs if not to frame them? Why have a car laden with explosives if you don't plan to use them for destructive purposes? Iraq is headed towards civil war, and this operation was meant to accelerate the process by killing people and blaming others. Nothing more, nothing less. That the British army staged an over-the-top escape when it could rely on normal diplomatic channels to recover its people proves that. There have been a number of insurgent bombings in Iraq recently. Who really is responsible for the bloodshed and destruction? The only tangible benefit of the bombings is justification for Coalition forces maintaining the peace in Iraq. Who benefits from that? Certainly not the Iraqis – they already believe most suicide bombings are done by the United States to prompt religious war. After reading about this incident, I'm not inclined to disagree. Was Indhira Gandhi "Surrounded" by handsome Russian male admirers?

A new book by a former KGB expert says the much decried emergency in India was declared by the former Prime Minister Late Shri Indira Gandhi under the influence of the Soviet intelligence agency KGB, which wielded much influence on her polices. Apparently afraid of the CIA's covert operations in India, especially in supporting the Sikh militants and North East Indian insurgency movements, Indhira sought the Soviety support. The book says that during her visits to Moscow, the iron lady of Indian politics was surrounded by "handsom male admirers". The Asian Age reported from London quoting top-secret records smuggled by Vasili Mitrokhin, a former senior archivist of the KGB that the Soviet intelligence exploited corruption that became endemic under Mrs Gandhi’s regime. "Despite her own frugal lifestyle, suitcases full of banknotes were said to be routinely taken to the Prime Minister’s house to finance her wing of the Congress. One of her opponents clai-med that Mrs Gandhi did not even return the suitcases. According to The Mitrokhin Archive II by Christopher Andrew and Vasili Mitr-okhin, the Indian Prime Minister was unaware that some of the suitcases, which replenished the Congress’ coffers, came from Moscow via the KGB, said the Asian Age report.."There are colourful nuggets about how Indira Gandhi, on her first trip to the Soviet Union in 1953, was kept "under continuous surveillance" and surrounded by "handsome, attentive male admirers". But no real evidence of Indian leaders being in KGB pockets," says another report in the Hindustan Times.

We Used Sex for Espionage: CIA Expert

Sex and espionage certainly go together -- that's an old tradition. There are many examples described in history as well as in literature, for example in "The Three Musketeers," where there is this famous story about the attempt to seduce D'Artagnan. But there are also true stories, for example that of Mata Hari. [Sex] does play a major role, in so far as women are employed against men; much more so [in other services] than in the service I used to be the director of. I have no good Mata Hari-type examples to talk about. More from CNN

Raids, Rent Force Sex Gangs to Shift Girls to Sharjah

Diera and Dubai have been the hub of illicit sex trade in Dubai, which has been under control due to frequent police raids and the skyrocketing rent level in Dubai. According to insiders in the business, the rent level has caused many small scale operators to shift their base to Sharjah, Ajman and other safe places where it is not difficult to operate. KM Learns that many girls are transported like cattles from Sharjah to Dubai for presenting before customers and returned home. Many pick up drivers, illegal taxi drivers and others are involved in this network in which some local support is also sheltering the criminals. Some influential locals receive money and woman for protecting the syndicate members. It is suspected that the girl could be trapped in Sharjah, the new safe haven for prostitution brothels.

Keralites everywhere are proud of being the most literate state in India and intellectuals and ordinary folks alike value books and letters more than any thing else. It seems that the trend is reversing and many prominent faces were missing from a low profile function organised by Mr.Jabbry and team, who have been working sincerely to encourage reading habit among Keralites in the region. Even though the editor of Salafi Times who organised the event in coordination with others who love words and books, invited many people including celebrity journalists from the print, audio visual media, many of them skipped the event, which could be the only World literacy day programme in Dubai. No celebrity name was present in the audience, which could be less than 10 people. While public functions organised by celebrity business tycoons or the publicity crazy organisations will attract every Tom Dick and Harry in town, it is a shame that they give least importance to such functions. Kathrina: India Donates $5 mn for American Red Cross

The Ambassador of India to United States of America Shri Ronen Sen presented a cheque for Five Million Dollars to the President and CEO of American Red Cross Ms. Marsha Evans as India's contribution for the relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, in Washington, on September 8, 2005. US one of the richest countries in the world has got a helping hand from various poor countries of the world at a time of natural calamity. When the US government is wasting billions, rather trillions of dollars to wage an unjust and barbarian war against the women and children of Iraq, George Bush, the self proclaimed champion of freedom and democracy is unable to protect his own people in New Orleans. Charity begins at home and the American president should solve the problems of his own people, before venturing out to "liberate" Iraqis or Iranis.
