Hooded Men Executing Saddam Officials
By Robert Fisk in Baghdad
28 December 2003:After the "liberation" of
Iraq, the Baath party's enemies have declared it open season to hunt
down and murder hundreds of the former regime's officials - with not
the slightest attempt by the Anglo-American armies or their newly
installed police force to end the bloodshed. In the Shia city of Najaf,
42 ex-members of the Baath have been murdered and not a single arrest
has followed. In Basra, controlled by British troops, almost 50 Baathists
have been found with their hands bound behind their backs and a s
ingle bullet hole in the neck. Again, there have been
no arrests.KM News Click Here for Detailed

Fight to Defend Dignity
"I was working for a private company
from 1992. This company was totally taken care of by me till
28th June 2001.I had officially resigned from the company on
11/02/2001 and had given my Local Sponsor a letter about my intention
not to continue with my services. As per the Oman labour law I
should have given one month notice but I still continued working
till 28th June 2001 till the time I had to go on for my father's
emergency operation...The final settlement of my dues as per
the Omani Labour Law, were not given to me. When I returned I
was called by the police on false complains made by my sponsor's
wife. I have gone through all these problems in the last 3 years
and still my payment is due. Four dates were given by the Labour
Dept but the Sponsor did not turn In the meantime my father who
was 70 years old expired on 9th Aug 2002 but I was not allowed
to leave the country as my passport was held by the... police
station against false allegations. I have also tried to take
assistance from the Indian Embassy but I was told that they can
not get involved in local company matters. They suggested that
if I wish they would issue me an out-pass to leave the country
which would have helped my company and would have proved that
I have committed some crime in the company. I I refused as I
always worked very hard and honestly for the company.... I have
been mentally, physically and financially, suffering a lot for
the past 27 months till date.Watch this Space to read the full

surprising is that they are neither highly educated nor English-speaking
category. Some of them are not even formally educated. Another
section of the neo-computer literate of Malappuram has already
crossed 60 years of age. A small minority is even older than
70. Malappuram is making history in IT education through the
Akshaya project. It is a model not only for India but also for
all developing countries. Full Feature
