PALME Pre--Registration competition
launched
WAYNMAKAN THE WORLD'S FIRST GPRS LAPTOP
UP FOR GRABS
IIR Exhibitions, organisers of Pro Audio Light
Middle East (PALME), the region's first professional sound and
lighting communications exhibition, has teamed up with Bond Communications,
one of the Middle Easts leading system integrators, to
offer show visitors a chance to win Bond's state-of-the-art Waynmakan
laptop. Meaning anywhere in Arabic, the Waynmakan
is the world's first GPRS laptop computer, allowing true connectivity
from anywhere within a GSM network. To be in the running for
the Waynmakan, visitors need to simply pre-register for the show
on-line at http://www.palmeonline.com and attend the opening
day of the show. The winner will be announced that day.
Bond Communications will also sponsor the
event's VIP lounge and Press Office. Both facilities will be
furnished with a number of Waynmakan computers. "This is
great opportunity for us to showcase the Waynmakans mobility
for individuals and organisations. It allows users instant access
anywhere and a show such as PALME is a great way to demonstrate
its versatility," said Nicholas Mobayed, CEO & President
of Bond Communications.
Apart from offering all the traditional features
of a conventional laptop, the Waynmakan also acts as a mobile
phone providing such features as SMS text and as well as a facility
for faxing. "It is a true mobile office, delivering all
the functionality of a conventional office yet the flexibility
and adaptability demanded by today's businessperson," said
Mobayed.
The competition comes hot on the heels of
Bond announcing it will take part in PALME. The company will
host a dedicated systems integration pavilion showcasing various
integration strategies to bring the latest sound and light technologies
into a single, flexible, scalable and adaptable system.
PALME, which takes place at the Dubai International
Exhibition Centre from February 16-18, 2003, is highly specialised
show targeting manufacturers, distributors, rental companies
and installers of groundbreaking sound and light technology and
will be a regional forum for industry professionals.
"This is a great opportunity for visitors
to win world-leading technology, created right here in the UAE,"
said Iain McLean, PALME Project Manager, IIR Exhibitions, organisers
of PALME. "Our partnership with Bond will see the highest
level of service delivered to both visitors and exhibitors of
PALME." PALME has already secured participation from the
Austria, Belgium, China, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Arab Emirates,
United Kingdom, United States.
