November 22, 2002. Email from a parent of Indian School (Name withheld for security reasons)

Sir

I am one of the malayalee families residing in (place name), Sultanate of Oman. I am regularly visiting your site. I Congratulate you giving important news in your portal.

I have seen more news about Indian schools in Oman. Some times we believe that the mismanagement of Indian schools will have an end after a short period. But now the situations of the management commitees of Indian schools become worser than before.

An example is Indian School S---(Name of the place). Sultanate of Oman. There are lot of complaints regarding the mismanagement of the management committee. The committee lead by a person who is not having the eligibility other than money for holding this post. He is considering teachers as slaves
and dealing with teachers (si
c) He sacked three efficient teachers from the school without any genuine reason. Now he is appointing teachers from India after taking huge amount
from them. This year he appointed 6 teachers all the teachers paid 50,000/- Indian Rupees to his Indian relative. Even now he is trying to appoint teachers from India even when the same subject teachers are available locally with experience.
One of the example now is

In the school there is a ....(subject withheld) teacher. Now the manager is trying to take another teacher. In this school there is no need of two teachers for the same subject. This appointment is more the benefit of the manager. Now a days the manager is appointing the teachers without advertising in news papper.

I think you will try to include this matter in the website so that somebody outside can understand the situation of Indian School (place name withheld). The Manager is acting as the super man here.

Mr.X is a Powerful Man in Muscat, Teacher Sacked because of some other reason

Dear Sir,

My name is (withheld). Mr.M ... was the former teacher in Indian School (name withheld), Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Recently he was sent out of the school (sacked)

Sir, firstly let me appreciate this website of yours for its sharpness to watch happenings in the gulf and to report them on time unbiasedly. It’s really heartening to see people dedicated to watch the truth and report it. So I thought I should inform you on the injustice my ---- had to face in the hands of many of the people who govern lives of NRIs in the gulf.

Kindly dedicate some time to hear the gross happenings meted out to my .... Since I am ..., I know a lot, which is very much on the grounds of reality.

Mr.M was "sacked" because ... (edited) the crux of the matter lies elsewhere.

Mr. XXX is a Keralite and is a very powerful man there as the head of various other companies too. He also has a strong political lineage in Kerala too, which I wouldn’t like to deal into. It all started when XXX became a board member. He had known a lady and that female wanted a post in the school where my ...was working. My ... did not know this relation then. Mr.M...very honestly disapproved of the candidate as she faired very badly in the tests conducted by them. She didn’t even get the pass marks in the written examinations. ....Eventually, Mr.M ...was forced to leave and he landed in Kerala. ... suffering in terrible agony the pain and anguish of the wrath of a terrible mentality.

The management people had been monitoring who all visited their house and where all we went in the days that Mr. M had been asked to leave. They wanted to if Mr. M was moving court or anything. How brutal !!

Sir, I request you to investigate on this further. I am sure you can find out and come to know what I have told you is in fact the true picture. I WANT THE TRUTH TO COME OUT IN YOUR WEB PAGE ONE DAY SOON !

I congratulate you for your certain bold reports. My day begins with going through the Keralamonitor. With regards and best wishes

Yours sincerely

We cannot Go to School because there is no money, We will become Sweepers, if we dont study, Please Help us

Dear Sir,

I am 9 years old.I just wanted to tell you that my
father and mother used to be teachers of the Indian
school, Tehran, Iran. The manager and principal of the
school terminated them. They never gave him his dues
and never gave us the ticket to come back to India.

My brother and I have not been going to
school for the last eight months because my father and
mother never had the money to pay the fees. My brother
and I don't have any problems with the school its just
because the school had problems with my father they
never let us attend school.

We first wanted to become a teacher like my mother and
father. But now for so long we have not been going to
school we can't become one because a teacher needs
knowledge to teach. Since we have not been going to
school for so long we would become sweepers.
Please help us.

Thank you,

Tanny Thomas.

I got First Place in School, All India Olympiad. There is no way to continue my studies

Dear Sir,
My name is Sean Thomas. I studied in
the VI standard in the Indian school - Tehran, Iran. I
haven't been going to school for the last 8 months,
because the school authorities had terminated my
father's and mother's services without giving them
their dues. Then my father went to the court to fight
for his rights.

Since my father wasn't given his dues he
didn't have money to pay for our school fees. Since
then my brother and I haven't been allowed to attend
school by the Principal. In a Mathematics Olympiad
competition held year before last I came second in the
ALL INDIA LEVEL. In my own class I have always come
1st or 2nd and now I cannot even go to school. I have
written this letter to ask you to please help us
because, if you do not help us soon we will have lost
one whole year of our life studying what we had to
study this year. PLEASE HELP US.

Yours sincerely,

Sean Thomas

We were both in Bangalore before we came to Teheran. I was working for some time in St. Joseph's Arts & Science college. My wife was working in St. Charle's High School, and then in St. Anne's Junior College, Ulsoor, he added.

I studies full time in St. Albert's College. My dad was a Professor of English over there. I did my M.A. from Kerala University and my B.Ed., from Madurai Kamaraj University.

The Embassy of India has written six letters to the Alien Office telling them not to extend my visa and to see that I am thrown out of Iran. The Alien Office has
given me 7 days from yesterday to leave Iran. My court case is till on and the date of the verdict is 40 days hence.

I don't know what to do. Since I have signed the contract in Teheran and also since the Embassy has not signed anywhere on my contract, I don't think I will be able to take up my case in India. Please advise me as to what to do.
