Kuwait IT industry attracts Microsoft & key partners

Kuwait, January 15, 2002: Microsoft Gulf recently announced its sponsorship of Info/ Connect 2002, the 2nd largest Information Technology and Communication exhibition in the region, scheduled to be held in Kuwait, between January 16 and 24, 2002.

Microsoft, which is sponsoring the exhibition for the third consecutive year, will participate in the nine-day event, along with its key partners in Kuwait - Professional Computers, Al Wazzan Computers and Al Sarraf Computers

Elaborating on the company's sponsorship of Info/ Connect 2002, Mr. Ali Dalloul, Country Manager, Microsoft Kuwait, Qatar & Bahrain said that Microsoft was proud to be associated with this prestigious annual event for the third year in a row.

"The twin exhibitions of Info 2002 and Connect 2002, now in their twentieth and eighth editions respectively, have over the years, grown from strength to strength and have succeeded in placing Kuwait on the regional IT map.

"As an active player in the Kuwait market for the past ten years, Microsoft, along with its partners, has played an important role in developing the IT industry in Kuwait by providing innovative software solutions and services to its customers in both the government and private sectors.

"Info/Connect 2002 will, for the first time, witness Microsoft's direct presence, during which we will showcase state-of-art wireless and portal technologies from our key .NET technology partner, GulfWeb International. This apart, we have lined up other surprises for the event."

Mr. Dalloul further said that Microsoft's association with this event is an indication of its long-term commitment to the Kuwait market, and to its numerous partners and customers .

Under the leadership of Ali Dalloul, the Kuwait office of Microsoft is also responsible for the company's operations in Bahrain and Qatar, and reports into the Microsoft Gulf office, located in Dubai Internet City.
