KM Discussion forum -Minority Politics in Kerala

MUSLIM LEAGUES OVER REACTION ITSELF SHOWS THEIR IMPATIENCE AND HIGH HANDEDNESS.

ANTONY SAID THE TRUTH. No need to crucify CM for saying one truth.

Advocate Thomas Panicker, a leading Gulf Malayali has made the following comments about A K Antony's awkward comments about minority politics. Keralamonitor does not share the views expressed here. You may send your comments to editor@keralamonitor.com or post ur messages at the discussion forum.

It is true that for years this complaint is heard that the Gulf Money has brought imbalances among communities in the villages of Kerala. All sensible people were saying this all these years.

It is true that the Kerala Minorities are not same as other states' minorities. Here Muslims through caste politics and others through organized way have greater influence on the Kerala social life. Of course other communities have complaints, apprehensions, doubts and feelings. This is a known fact and all other communities agree to that also. Vellalsabha, Deevarasabha, Ishavas, Vellapally, RajaGopal and others have agreed to the statement of Chief Minister.

Instead of murmuring and making hue and cry, Muslim league and other organized minorities should try to remove these apprehensions from the minds of other communities. Hawala, illegal Gulf money has reached the hands of NDF and other some extremists groups, which is disturbing the stability of communities. No need to crucify CM for saying one truth.

(See, 'CPIM Center For Development Studies' at TRvm had a study and released its findings before Peoples programme was launched. The percentage of each community people working in the Gulf and percentage of income was published.
Muslim 50 (47), Christians 20.5 (25) Ishavas 18.4 (13.4) Nair 7.7 (8.6) Scheduled caste tribe 1.5 (1) Others 7.4 (5.2) Also study reveals that Muslims not interested to send their children to schools, they have less educational background, they have highest birth rate and highest more than thrible population increase rate.)

This above study was published in 1999.)

What AK Antony Said.?
1) Kerala Minorities are not like other states' minorities, here minorities are well organized, politically strong. IS IT TRUE OR FALSE? CPIM and Muslims have any doubts??

2) Further, AK Antony said, the other Communities have some misconception, mis-understanding, & even complaints on the subject tt Minorities through organized religious political bargaining, making many advantages.

Even though it is true (and even CPIM was complaining continuously that AK Antony and congress are under the Muslim League, and given Maximum important portfolios to League and CPIM was continuously accusing that AK Antony conceding too much to League) Antony didn't' say this. He said other communities have such complaints. All other communities, Ishawa, Dhevara Vishwakarma, Nairs, and other say What AK Antony said is 100% correct. They all agreed with his statement.

Then instead of trying to remove that wrong feeling from the minds of other communities, why League and CPIM jumping for AK Antony's blood???

Even CPIM continuously was accusing that due to Kunjalikutty's (ML) out of the way interference only, all criminal NDF Muslim League members who were in jail for torching theaters, Liquor shops, killing liberal Muslims and CPIM members at Malappuram Dt. were let out from jail after UDF came to power. Immediately KALA & CPIM changed track??

Hawala, illegal, smuggled money from Gulf like the one exposed now 700 crores & 360 crores, 160 crores are reaching the wrong hands and creates in the mind of other communities doubt, complaint & misconception, feeling, thinking and misunderstanding.

IS THIS TRUE OR FALSE. ??

Is AK Antony's statement true or false who can tell this? Only the concerned other communities and its leaders, who were mentioned here.
This is also 100% true, Ishava religious leaders, Nairs and Dheevars Sabaha & Vishwakarma and all other religious people concerned agree to Antony's statement. They all say AK Antony said the truth only.

When Ak Antony as the ruler of Kerala makes a statement and the concerned all community leaders agree to his statement (see today's deepika 13-07-2003) who are this Muslim League and CPIM to say that it is false.

So, what's minorities' duty now, to prove that and show to other communities that
they are not making any illegal advances. We together should try to remove the doubts in the minds of other communities, instead of crucifying AK Antony who said the unwelcome/bitter truth.

Our duty is to remove such feelings from the mind of other communities for our peaceful co-existence.

Following happenings might have forced the other communities to think in that ways.

1) Crores and crores Hawala money from Gulf all came to the hands of Muslims extremists, NDF, PDP, SUNNIs and other some extremists groups.

2) All over Kerala seashore slowly going to Muslims and PDP- NDF and some other antinational elements. Misterious hand is seen behind all Hawala, benamy buyings.

3) All communal riots where Hindus are murdered the role of NDF and other hidden extremists groups Mumbai groups are involved.

4) In Maraud, Kovalam beach and all over Kerala at seafront many many illegal unauthorised Mosques are constructed with the help of Mulsims ministers, which no leader in Kerala are ready to condemn, since minority vote bank is involved.

5) All NDF prisoners, who were involoved in communal riots, killing of peaceloving Mulsims, torching of Theateres & wineshops at Malappuram and all were released after Kunjalikutty came to power. Many Hindus were killed immediately on Cherkulam Abdullah became minister. Now Maradu…

6) Due to 2 minority educational institution only SFI, opposition making all the strikes and educational strikes over Kerala and criticizing the govt. for inefficiency.

7. Muslim League does not want CBI to be involved because it will expose some of the killers as members of ML.
8. Muslim League wants Maradu Muslims rehabilitated & mosque given back so that they can get more Muslim votes. They have no concern for the feelings of the community which lost 9 men and many seriously injured.
9. In Hawala, smuggling & illegal money flowing, the 95% arrested persons are Muslims. In Irattupettah, Perinthalmanna & many Muslims' pockets, living in India, Muslims, supports Pakistan & even make demonstration in support of Pakistan in front of Hindus. In front of Hindus these Muslims make demostrations, writings in support of Pakisthan. During 'Kargilwar' also this happened in these pockets. Like these acts NDF & extremists Muslims are terrorizing innocent Hindus who in terms are forced to go communal or join 'sanghparivar' and RSS for their defense.
10. During the 10 years of Babrimasjid day they make all the organized hooliganism, & destruction of public property & terrorize still the innocent people of Kerala, while no other state has no such problems.
11) While all other political party leaders are criticized by Muslim league, even AK Antony, EMS, Achuthanandan & all others are criticized by Muslim league and other political parties, nobody can criticize muslim leage parties President. While all other parties tolerate criticism, Muslim league cannot tolerate any criticism of their leader. This is actually fascism. If Thangal cannot tolerate criticism, he should resign as President of communal political party.
12) Even the extent and mode of Muslim League's reaction to the CM's statement itself shows that how ML creating issues and out of the way pressurizing to achieve the same. No other community does this in Kerala.
13) How ML with 24 MLAs got major portfolios in the ministry? Everybody knows this. Due to their strong organized bargaining power only ML got major portfolios and 4 ministers in the ministry, while congress with 67 MLAs got only 7 including CM with less important portfolios. This is also an example of organized religious party's bargaining power. All other majority communities which have no political party in the name of their religion like Muslim League has criticized Ak Antony for conceding too much for ML and giving these powerful ministries to ML.

LIKE ABOVE MANY MANY EXAMPLES OF MINORITY HIGHHANDEDNESS CAN BE SHOWN. THIS NATURALLY GIVE APPREHENSIONS, DOUBTS, ILLFEELINGS IN THE MINDS OF OTHER COMMUNITIES.

AK Antony never said "only Muslims working in the Gulf"
He said unlike in other states, Kerala minorities are not weak, They are well organized to bargain for their community. They are not treated badly like other states. TRUE 100% TRUE.
He said is the flow of gulf money ( maximum of which comes by Hawala TO ANTINATIONAL ELEMENTS NDF etc. like the 700 and 360 crores exposed now) and Euro money created an imbalance in the Kerala Communities. The communities who are benefited less have some misconception, complaints, grindings, ill feelings, misunderstanding in their mind. This also 100% correct and true.
Instead of crucifying the person who said the truth, we should think together to remove the misunderstanding ill feeling created in the minds of other communities.
AK Antony is the most dependable leader who is most secular and Minorities and Majorities can depend on.
In this connection we have to think the connected factors also.

1) In Trivandrum university college and Pariyaram medical college and like many other colleges, KSU could not even start their units in fear of dreadedl SFI goons. why with all police power and muscle power congress not attempting to start this???

2) Why Imam of Delhi could not be summoned to High court even after sending summons several times.?

3) Why the innocent Hindu pandits who were forced out by Muslims terrorists killers from Kashmir, could not be re-instated yet by all the brute army police power ?

4) Why the accused woman in Binu murder case could not be re-instated in her home after 4 years even after all agreed for her re-instatement with the help of all police forces.??

It’s difficult to continue this way, Muslim League tells Sonia Statement not indented to hurt anyone: Antony

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, July 16: Leaders of Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), the second largest constituent of Kerala’s Congress-led ruling coalition, today registered strong protest with Congress president Sonia Gandhi against Chief Minister AK Antony’s observations that minority communities were gaining undue share through collective bargaining and migration had resulted in economic imbalances.

“We told her that it’s difficult for us to continue this way…unless the fears of the minorities created by the statement is cleared,” IUML national secretary E Ahmed told reporters after the meeting in New Delhi. “I feel that the primary responsibility to clear the atmosphere of mistrust lies with the chief minister. It’s not possible for the present set up to continue in the backdrop of the comments made by the Chief Minister”.

Asked if a clarification from the chief minister would solve the problems, Ahmed said: “We will discuss his clarification first and take appropriate decision”.

Ahmed said he had conveyed to Gandhi the strong protest from the Gulf Malayalee expatriates against Antony’s comments on them.

Ahmed, who met Gandhi along with industry Minister PK Kunhalikkutty, the state general secretary of the party, said the team had no mandate to take a decision on the issue. “(IUML state president Panakkad Mohammed Ali Shihab) Thangal asked us to discuss the issue with all the people concerned and report to the party Secretariat meeting scheduled for July 21. The meeting will take a final decision,” he said.

He said the IUML would also consult other United Democratic Front (UDF) constituents as well before taking any drastic step.

During the 50-minute-long meeting, the IUML leaders also complained about the government’s failure to rehabilitate the Muslim families fled the strife-torn Marad beach after the May 2 communal killings.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Antony stuck to his stand and said his statement was not meant to hurt anybody. “I just wanted to share my concerns about the changing social realities. I’m deeply pained at not getting enough cooperation in solving the problems in the education sector as well as law and order situation. Whether it be the self-financing college issue or Marad, I was not getting any help from anybody,” he told reporters after a cabinet meeting.

He said he had not said anything to hurt the non-resident Keralites. “Whatever I said were my personal views. I have nothing more to add,” he said fielding a volley of questions.

In Delhi, Congress spokesperson Anand Sharma said the IUML leaders had not demanded change of leadership in Kerala. “There was no such a demand. At this stage, I shall not elaborate on that,” he told a news conference adding that the party high command did not see any threat to the two-year-old Antony government.

Three close confidantes of rebel leader K Karunakaran had the other day met Sonia Gandhi and demanded leadership change in Kerala. However, reports said the Congress leadership had decided not to ‘dump’ Antony under pressure from any quarters.

Emboldened by the inflexible stand taken by the IUML, Karunakaran’s son K Muraleedharan, the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president, also came down heavily on Antony for his comments on minorities and migration. “It’s not Congress’s policy and the high command should take appropriate action. His statement is in violation of the party’s declared stand,” he told reporters here.

He said identifying thousands of Keralites toiling in the Gulf with a particular community was something nobody expects from a chief minister. “The KPCC president cannot be a mute spectator in such circumstances. I’ll stick to my stand even if I lose my position,” he said.

He said there was nothing wrong in the party legislators meeting Sonia Gandhi demanding leadership change. “They have successfully done it in 1995 (when Antony replaced Karunakaran as chief minister).

When his reaction was sought to the reports that Karunakaran loyalists were planning to sit in the Assembly as a separate block and vote against the government, Muraleedharan said: “Karunakaran will never desert the party”.

He demand immediate intervention of the party high command to clear the confusion in the party and the government.Reacting to Muraleedharan’s statement that the high command had the ‘pill’ for Antony, Information Minister MM Hassan said the high command had the pill for Muraleedharan too.
