Anti-aging one of the key topics to be given considerable attention, of growing concern to both women and men
Dubai, UAE, 25 July, 2004: A series of talks covering a variety of issues including womens health will be delivered as part of Simply Health, the medical component of Simply Woman, the regions exclusive women-only event organised by Streamline Marketing and taking place at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, 29-30 November.
Women from all over the Middle East who attend Simply Woman will learn about a range of issues affecting their lives, from leading female role models and professionals heading to Dubai for what is the regions first event of its kind aimed specifically at women. The exhibition element will cover a range of industries, from fashion, travel and sport, to home and interiors, careers, education, food and nutrition.
One of many medical professionals participating in Simply Health is Heather Bird, founder of HB Health, one of Londons premier anti-aging clinics. While many people, especially women worry about their chronological age, it is their biological age they should really be concerned about, said Bird, who first became interested in the effects of aging on the human body when she helped care for people suffering from age-related degenerative illnesses.
Anti-aging medicine is a relatively young field and my participation at Simply Woman is a vital opportunity for me to make the women of this region aware of the vast array of safe and modern treatments now available to slow down the aging process, she said.
Bird explained that while chronological age is simply measured by the number of years that has passed since a person was born, biological age reflects the ability of ones body to repair itself.
As diet, exercise, stress and hereditary factors all affect the bodys ability to regenerate itself, different people age at different rates.
It is quite possible to have a 30-year old person in the body of a 50-year old and vice versa, said Bird, who was recently appointed Director of the World Anti-Aging Academy of Medicine and is currently writing a book about health and anti-aging.
These and other subjects will be explored in the form of seminars, conferences and workshops and will be staged in partnership with Doctorinternet, an English and Arabic UK-based specialist online medical consultancy. Simply Health will provide a forum for prominent regional and European medical practitioners and leading beauty visionaries to provide detailed information on a range of female health topics, including Birds area of expertise, anti-ageing.
Interactive sessions conducted by the doctors will cover breast cancer awareness and prevention, infertility and menopause, plastic surgery, cosmetic dentistry, dermatology, alternative medicine and weight management. Admission will be strictly for women only. As with Simply Woman, Simply Health is aimed at the public and will focus on healthcare and medical products and services especially for women.
In line with the events commitment to empower women, Streamline Marketing has also announced that 75% of all ticket revenue will be donated to women-related charities in the region. A single day pass will give women access to both Simply Woman and Simply Health, while the event will be open from 10am to 10pm daily.

We never had a better economic managment team in Centre before. Mr. P Chidambaram's budgest was paradigm change in India's economic policy. We will be very happy if Government levy tax only on high-net-worth NRI individuals.
But The final decision to impose tax on NRI interest is very bad for low income NRIs. NRI has to pay tax only if his income increases general exeptionof Rs 50000 plus additional excemption that means if income exeeds Rs. 62000/ . Banks will deduct tax at source at the rate of 30% if the income is even Rs. 10. Govt. says when you file income tax return, if your income is lees than Rs. 62,000/ you will get full refund .
Out of 5 million NRIs in gulf how many of them have interest income of more than Rs. 62000 ? The majority of the low income people are working 12 house a day. How may of them have expertise, knowledge and time to file income tax return. So, Government is looting from them by deducting tax at source, even though they are not eligible to pay tax.
These poor people do not have organizations, knowledge and ability to react. We have hundreds of NRI organization in Gulf and in India, we appeal to all these organisations to use their political contacts with ruling and opposition parties to pressure to withdraw the tax proposal and save low income people.
