The suicide note which is not recorded in the police First Information Report contained the name of the jeweler and it is suspected that either Latha Nair was trying to dupe people by taking the name of leading businessmen. Promising important role in serials and TV, Anagha, a talented classic dancer, was taken by Latha Nair to many locations ostensibly for shooting. Even though the post mortem report suggested that she was sexually assaulted, the police seem to be indifferent. A letter written by Anagha indicates the name of prominent personalities who have engaged in sexual relation with her. This letter also indicates the fact that Latha Nair was involved in blue film making. Due to high level pressure, police officials could not include this letter in the FIR and it is in the custody of the DGP, the report added.Latha Nair also lured girls from other places like Banglore and Coimbatore where his daughter was a student. Omanakutty, a relative of the Kiliroor girl, has revealed that Latha Nair made about 300 blue films in which she has acted. According to her statement to the police quoted by the magazine, Latha Nair herself acted in many blue films.

One of the CDs detected from the Kaviyoor Nampoothiry family was such a blue film. The suicide note of Narayanan Nampoothiri has a reference to one Alukkas. It is reported that Latha Nair took money from the Brahmin family by claiming close relationship with this jewellery owner. However, the report adds that Latha Nair must have deliberately misused the names of prominent businessmen to dupe the family and take money. She has duped many people by taking the name of prominent ministers and businessman. Only a thorough investigation would reveal the secret behind the Kiliroor Sex scandal. As happened in the infamous Kiliroor sex scandal, the big wigs go scot free and those who take up the issue gets in trouble. The current investigation into the Kiliroor sex racket case is centered on a resort in Alappuzha that belongs to Non Resident Indian from Kuwait who was involved in the multcore Indian School Kuwait scandal. One resort where the girl is allegedly sexually exploited is owned by none other than a prominent Non Resident Keralite who was financing the ruling Congress party over a long period of time.

It is an open secret that an NRK (with a name resembling the state chief minister's name) was involved in the multi crore Indian School Scandal in Kuwait and that some prominent NRKs were implicated in the case. Some of the recent visitors to the resort included a former tourism minister accompanied by central tourism minister Mrs. Renuka Chaudhury and other prominent VIPs. What is the reason behind the attack on media personalities who visited the resort? Why was a secret visit by senior police officials to the resort, just a few days before the main culprit Latha Nair was brought to the resort?

Despite the ruling Congress party's covert and overt attempts to dilute the sex scandal case by all means, there are clear indications that senior Congress leaders are also deeply involved in the sex scandal. The resort owner is close to the Karunakaran faction who has been lobbying for a seat from Alappuzha. "A section of the Malayalam press reported recently that … had handed out Rs 2 million for the show of strength rally organised by Karunakaran's son K. Muraleedharan. Karunakaran, who has not been keeping well, turned up recently at Chennnamkary, near Alappuzha, to launch a posh house boat," reported the Gulf News.

While reports suggest that the minor girl was sexually assaulted by VIPs in many places including Guruvayoor, police investigations are pointing to a cover up plan. Rumours were rife that the NRK resort owner was to become the Congress candidate in Alappuzha. It was also reported that a senior official of a private television hannel was involved in the current controversy. The fact that the mobile phone used by the victim and Latha Nair run phone bills worth 29,000 and Rs.45,000 indicates the clear foreign links. Just to give a corresponding link from the Gulf region, the monthly telephone bills of some pimps in the Gulf runs into several thousand Dhirams. How many domestic calls you can make using Rs.45,000 in a month? Obviously there is an international link to the sex racket. Another interesting Gulf angle is the fact that Latha Nair promised visa to many people as she claimed to get nearly 300 visas for Gulf countries!!! These resorts are targeting customers from the Middle East region, especially the Arab countries. An innocent girl who was lured to act in a teleserial eneded up in the bedrooms of many VIPs and resorts frequented by NRIs, businessmen and politicians.

It was also alleged that the Congress party received huge kick back from the Kuwait Indian school culprits for helping them in the multicrore Indian school Kuwait chapter. "The Kerala Congress Party should disclose the funds it received through the Kuwait NRK, another suspect in the school funds scam," says another report in the Gulf News. There is an obvious reason why the investigation is not utilizing the phone numbers registered in the mobile phones of Latha Nair. It is also reported that one of her sons work in Kuwait? Where is he working and as what?

It is an open secret that many of the resorts in Kumarakam and other so called new hubs of tourism are infected with pimps like Latha Nair who market young college girls who are willing to sell their body for peanuts. Kerala is said to be a literate and cultured state, but supplying girls and liquor are becoming an integral part of the state political culture. And in all such scandals the involvement of dubious NRIs is also to be noticed. Whether it is Kovalam palace issue or the Kiliroor sex scandal the involvement of NRK related institutions is a matter of shame. The Kiliroor and Sooryanelli sex scandals should raise a serious discussion about the manner in which the so called tourism promotion is taking shape. Attracting tourists is a good strategy, but not by offering the body of tender girls to satisfy the sexual urge of foreigners. Dragon Mart, the largest trading hub for products from China being developed outside the Chinese mainland, is taking its final shape at the International City development of Nakheel, in the Al Warsan area in Dubai. The 1.2 km long dragon shaped structure is a permanent exhibition space comprising
showrooms and business facilities including: post offices, meeting and negotiation rooms, full commercial and general services and will assemble the most exhaustive collection of Chinese products under one roof.

The development, which is being jointly promoted by Nakheel and Chinamex Middle East Investment and Trade Promotion Centre, is spread over an area of 150,000 square meters in addition to 30,000 square meters of warehouses. It will host Chinese businesses or businesses associated with products
and services from China, including joint venture companies and companies operating from China through the Chinamex Middle East Investment and Trade Promotion Centre. Sultan Ahmad Bin Sulayem, Chairman, Nakheel, said, "The international market cannot ignore the 'China Effect', where the products and services from mainland China compete with that of the other countries, price-wise and quality-wise on a global scale. The Dragon Mart is Nakheel's acknowledgment of China's influence in international trade and commerce and will create a space for traders and entrepreneurs from the mainland to offer their services to the lucrative Middle East markets."

The Mart is divided into several commercial areas, which will host a wide variety of Chinese products and commodities, including, textile and garments, food and groceries, household and electric appliances, interior decoration, home furnishing, arts and craft, chemical products, sports and leisure
accessories, electronics and lifestyle products. The development will also host food courts with Chinese restaurants and other tourism interests for visitors to sample Chinese heritage and culture.

The work on the Dragon Mart is proceeding, paving the way for the development to be opened for business as early as the end of 2004. The epi-structure of the project is finished with the work on the interiors being almost complete. A sculpture representing Chinamex logo designed exclusively
by Chinamex will form the centrepiece of the fountain facing the main entrance of the Mart. The interior of the Dragon Mart body will host vast exhibition spaces divided into six zones, each of which is further divided into four exhibition areas. Between every two consecutive show areas there is an
open space, covered by a large tent around 17 meters high, with a total of 11 tents spread across the entire structure to represent the spine of the dragon. The body of the dragon measures around 980 meters long and 110 metres wide and around 6.4 metres high. The two-storeyed Dragonhead measures around 220 metres in length and 210 metres in width and 18 metres in height will have a full-fledged Chinese Garden on the ground level.

"The Dragon Mart has demonstrated Nakheel's ability to understand and dissect emerging market and business trends, and to offer the right infrastructure solutions for business activity and excellence," said bin Sulayem. "The Dragon Mart on completion will be the centre of business activity in the Middle East for Chinese businesses. The project is also a realisation of the longstanding relationship between the Chinese government, the expatriate Chinese community and the UAE." International City covers an incredible 800 hectares of land, located just 12 kilometres from Dubai International Airport in the Al Warsan area of Dubai. The project will be a world class hub for international investors, traders and retailers from across the globe as well as offering unique themed residential areas. International City will also combine internationally themed commercial and tourism elements into its six key areas; The
Central District, Dubai Design Centre, The Dragon Mart, The Residential District, Lakes District and The Forbidden City. International City will be a city where people can live, work and relax in one unique and exclusive environment. Construction is already underway and the entire project will be
completed by the end of 2006.
