Five members of Indian School Darsait to leave now
It was only C.N.P.Nampoothiri, Member, MC, Indian School, who behaved like a gentleman and resigned decently from the Indian school Darsait (Kerala Syllabus) as his children were not studying in that school. Other members like the school president Abraham Mathew, committee members S.S.Pillai and K.M Jose retained their position on the advise of the patron. While K.M.Jose has already left the Sultanate, others have to leave office soon to accommodate new members. Naturally there is a scramble among the "social workers" representing the community to grab the opportunity and fill the MCs with their own people.
Two linguistic wings representing the Keralite community have been frequenting the patron's office to ensure that their representatives get into the new MC of Darsait school. It is also suggested that some potential candidates shift their children from one school to another to assume parental status! Some of the aspiring candidates are trying to "impress" the patron by engaging in more 'Social Activities". Leaders of the non-existing parent-teacher bodies are also in the fray trying their luck.
Some of them make it a point to call up media people to inform that they are doing so and so welfare measures to help the downtrodden underdogs. There appears to be a tacit understanding among the top leaders about a "power sharing" arrangement in the school management committees for which some concessions are made from each side. While confrontation is not good for both the sides, cooperation will bring cheers to all. While many people shed crocodiles tear about school functioning, the common parents need to shed tears about inflated cost of education. (keralamonitor.com)
