New Chairperson Appointed to the Board of Indian Schools MUSCAT - The restructuring of the board of Indian schools, which was approved by the Ministry of Education, makes Manjula Ramdas, an active female member of the Indian community the Chairperson and Dr. Dalal the Vice the Chairman. The ministry has also approved the induction of four new members - Mr. Durgaprasad (the Bahwans group), Hakeem ( Ideal Marines), Mr.Chaudhury (Oman Computers) and one Bhupendra.
The most notable development is the official approval for the removal of Kiran Ramayya and Apoorva Mehta, two members representing the Hindu Mahajan Association (HMA), the organization which has got extra constitutional rights and representation in the school board. Even though some male members of the board were eyeing the coveted chairman's post, Manjula Ramdas seems to be the first woman to occupy the key position. Manjula takes over reins of power from Sandeep Arora who has resigned at the end of his term.
The patron, the Indian Ambassador in Muscat, is still living in India House and the community is keenly watching the next turn of events. Now Indian School Wadi Kabir will have only one member. -keralamonitor.com
