- No Entry for Sacked Indian School Teacher?
A former Indian School teacher who was sacked for some charges had a bitter taste of the strange behaviour of some of the new board members. According to sources, the board members insisted that the school teacher should be sacked, given no release and even the emmigration department should record a no entry mark in the passport. While the teacher approached the school patron seeking a release order to secure his future life, the board members insisted that he should not be given a release. While the patron tried to settle the matter by arguing that an Indian should not be denied the basic right to get job in the Gulf, the board members insisted that no release should be given. What type of community service is this? We Indians are here to make a living and one influencial Indian trying to prevent the means of survival of another not so powerful Indian? In such cases, the rule of natural justice will prevail, isnt it?- -keralamonitor.com
- ISM - two teachers receive sacking order
- Indian School Muscat has sacked a lady teacher saying that she received undue favours from the Principal and former committee members and lacked sufficient experience. However the lady teacher pleaded innocence and said she had good academic records and good performance appraisal from her seniors. She has approached the patron, seeking justification for the sacking. In the sacking order, she is politely told that her service is no more required with effect from a particular date. According to her version there is no reason attributed to her sacking as the supervisor and vice principal are silent. The lady teacher has been teaching English in the primary section.
- It is rumoured that some other teachers are facing similar problems, but this could not be confirmed. An ISM teacher in the senior level also received similar orders, but it could not be officially confirmed. Apparently there is a power struggle at the senior level, which is affecting innocent teachers. However the school authorities claimed that some teachers lacked sufficient teaching experience. "A lot of weeding out is going on in the school. There is certain set standards that we follow in ascertaining a teachers ability to teach," said school committee source.
- However, the pertinent question is how come they realized that the teacher is unable to teacher one year after her recruitment? This raises other issues related to the appointment of school teachers. Who has recruited inefficient teachers and what type of interview or written test is conducted to ensure that only qualified and experienced teachers are selected to teach in Indian schools. Are the school committee members or board members qualified enough to evaluate a school teacher or interview candidates?- keralamonitor.com
